I founded Cornerstone Financial Group in 1996 with a single partner, Dale Engskov, who has since retired. Since our founding, we have served our clients as a fee-only registered investment advisor with a straightforward but meaningful mission: provide quality, unbiased financial advice that helps people be good stewards of what God has blessed them with. That purpose still drives everything we do three decades later.
Before starting Cornerstone, I played professional basketball in the NBA for six years. I attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where I studied business. That background taught me discipline, teamwork, and the importance of preparation—lessons that translate directly into how I approach financial planning and portfolio management today.
My focus is on portfolio management and investment research. I'm passionate about creating tailored solutions that fit each client's specific situation rather than applying cookie-cutter approaches. Every portfolio we build is designed with intention and backed by thorough research. Day to day, I work directly with our clients and spend time implementing portfolio solutions through research and trading.
I live in Omaha with my wife, Sue. We love spending time with our son Dan, our daughter Faith, and our daughter-in-law Sarah. I'm active in the community through our church, King of Kings. When I'm not working or with family, you'll find me on golf courses across the Midwest or cheering on the Huskers.
